The Leicester Storm 1st Grade play in the National Conference South - the highest league currently available for the Storm. 2013 was the first the club competed at this level and finished a very credible third turning many heads along the way. 2014 a repeat performance was given with the semi finals being reached.
In 2015 the Confernce League South was expanded to 10 teams and the Storm also competed in the Challenge Cup for the first time in the clubs history. The club had a topsy turvey year losely narrowly to the top teams. Pluses included the emergence of young half backs Leiws Chapman and Milkha Bashra.
in 2016 the 1st Grade team is coached by Ty Watson and Dean Thomas is the Director of Rugby League.
Coaches on top of training also hosts a weekly video analysis session going through game tapes highlighting areas to work and exploit. The 1st Grade team run as an elite team and with that comes a certain level of commitment. Fitness, rehab, diet, mental strength, tactics and skill level are all part of the Storm coaching regime.
Pre season starts on January 10th on Victoria Park at 1030am and continues every Sunday. Players wanting to play 1st Grade will be required to undergo extra training either on their own or at the one of the partner gyms - to be announced shortly.
